What Statistics Does it Track?

• Word Count — Total number of words, separated by whitespace
• Character Count — Total characters including spaces and punctuation
• Characters (No Spaces) — Characters excluding all whitespace
• Sentence Count — Sentences ending with ., !, or ?
• Paragraph Count — Blocks of text separated by blank lines
• Reading Time — Estimated at 200 words per minute (average adult reading speed)
• Top Words — The 5 most frequently used words (3+ characters)

• Twitter / X post: 280 characters
• Meta description (SEO): 150–160 characters
• LinkedIn post: 3,000 characters

How It Works

The counter updates live on every keystroke. Words are counted by splitting on whitespace; sentences by detecting terminal punctuation. Reading time is calculated at the standard average of 200 words per minute. All processing happens locally — your text never leaves your browser.
